As of August 6th, 2018 the Parking Division started the installation of new parking equipment in all three (3) City of Ithaca parking garages including, entrance and exit gates, entrance ticket dispensers, exit ticket verifiers, and pay booths. We are excited about this much-needed upgrade. It will eliminate many of the technical difficulties that we were experiencing and we hope that you find it more convenient. Work will begin in the Dryden Road Garage, progress to the Seneca Street Garage and finish in the Green Street Garage. We anticipate the work to be completed by the end of October.
The new parking equipment will not accept hourly and daily token tickets. Sales of the token tickets have been discontinued as of July 31st, 2018.
After the new equipment is in place the token tickets can be used to pay for parking only when an attendant is on duty. Do not insert them into the exit verifiers on the new equipment when you exit the garage. Please hand tickets directly to an attendant when paying. Token tickets will be accepted by attendants until December 31st, 2018.
Attendants will be available in the garages as follows:
Dryden Road Garage: Monday through Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Seneca Street Garage: Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Green Street Garage: Monday through Friday 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM
While the upgraded technology will not permit the continued use of token tickets, we are working with community partners on exploring options within the new system for businesses to be able to continue to offer validated parking to their customers.
