Street parking is available and ideal for residents and visitors running errands or needing to park for less than 2 hours at a time in downtown Ithaca and Collegetown. Look for the “Pay Here” parking signs to locate a Pay Station Machines nearest you.
These pay stations, introduced to Ithaca on July 6, 2015, replaced simple coin meters (aka lollipop meters) so customers pay for on-street parking using coin, cash, and credit or debit cards.

Extend-by-phone service at the pay station
Patrons are able to renew their time period at the pay machine, meaning that you don’t have to an appointment early to feed the meter. Enter your phone number at the time of payment and you’ll be texted a reminder when your time at the pay machine is almost up; if you paid with a credit card, you can add time to your space with the parking text message system (Note: this system works for both “smart phone” users and regular phone users).
